In their own words

  • Accessible Format Production: CELA creates and distributes accessible formats of books for people with print disabilities in Canada. The SDPP-D program (The Social Development Partnerships Program (Disability)), a part of ESDC, has provided funding to CELA year by year in the past, and this will be the primary target of lobbying. CELA will be lobbying for stable and ongoing funding for this essential work to help people with print disabilities in Canada. Another possible source of funding is through Canadian Heritage, which supports accessible publishing in various forms as well.
  • Seek to confirm continued funding for the Centre for Equitable Library Access and the National Network for Equitable Library Service from the government of Canada for accessible reading material for Canadians with print disabilities.
