In their own words

  • March of Dimes Canada is advocating for a person-centered Canada Disability Benefit policy statement and guidelines, and in support of effective federal inter-departmental and Federal/Provincial/Territorial agreements which ensure recipients receive the full benefit of the Canada Disability Benefit without impacting existing income support or downstream programs, services and/or benefits.
  • March of Dimes Canada is advocating to ensure that access to the new Canada Disability Benefit is as accessible and barrier-free for people with disabilities as possible, and to increase the monthly maximum amount of the benefit, reflecting the Disability Inclusion Action Plan values and outcomes.
  • March of Dimes Canada is advocating for the National Building Code and National Housing Catalogue to be based on Universally-designed, accessible and adaptable principles. We are also advocating for Build Canada Homes to make accessibility a primary consideration in any new builds.
